NDESCO Delivers Turnkey Steel Solutions for World-Class Canal Sugar Plant

NDESCO, a leader in industrial engineering solutions, announced the successful completion of its extensive work on the Canal Sugar Factory Project in Minya, Egypt. The new facility, one of the largest beet sugar processing plants in the world, boasts a massive production capacity of 36,000 tons of sugar beet per day.
NDESCO’s scope of work for the project was comprehensive, covering the design, manufacturing, and installation of critical steel structures and equipment across the entire plant. This turnkey solution highlights the company’s expertise in heavy steel fabrication and integrated process solutions for the sugar industry.
Key contributions included:
Beet Reception and Handling: NDESCO constructed the massive 6,000-ton capacity beet reception station, along with the high-capacity dirty beet belt conveyors, each capable of moving 1,500 tons per hour.
Processing and Separation: The company’s team fabricated and installed the entire steel structure for the washing station, the imposing 41-meter high slicing station, and the clean beet bucket elevators, each with a capacity of 1,000 tons per hour.
By-product and Finishing Stations: NDESCO provided solutions for the Press Pulp Station, Lime Kiln and Lime Slaker Units, Centrifugal Station for sugar separation, and a complete Bagging & Packaging Station with various conveyor systems.
Advanced Handling Systems: The project also included the installation of a specialized Pelletizing & Animal Feed Station and a Sun Dryer Bridge Station, demonstrating NDESCO’s capabilities in creating efficient, end-to-end industrial systems.
